International management in schools.
The six schools would like to become INTERNATIONAL schools, meaning not just dependent on approved projects, but more in a structured meaning. We would like to create a lingering red line of international activities from the minute our students enter our school till the time the leave us after four/five or six years. In order to reach this objective we would like to develop all kinds of activities in and between our schools to get internationalization integrated in entire school life and school organization.
The situation in Europe today is not very optimistic about the European Dimension. Populist politicians try to speculate on a better life in lots of countries with less European influence. They create fear and xenophobic tensions in their own countries and for Europe's inhabitants. We see this all over Europe: The Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Germany and France are a couple of examples. Not to mention the UK.
With this project we would like to do something about this pessimistic feeling. We would like to create a feeling in our schools of cooperation, friendship, the real European dimension and a optimistic future for all living in Europa and the world.
This means were are going to create schools with international activities during the entire school life of our teachers and students. We would like to show the school community, but also the parents and local community, that internationalization is a realistic way of influencing peoples life in a positive way. We can learn from each other by working together.
So this project needs to be worked out trans-nationally. All schools will have their input and will radiate their positive view to other schools in their region and country.
So for the target groups we can be more precise:
1. Teachers from all levels in the school. From year 1 till 4/5/6.
2. Students from all levels in the school. From year 1 till 4/5/6
3. The management teams in the schools .The management teams of the schools will be in charge of incorporating the documents created in the existing documentaries of the school.
Objectives:
1. To integrated internationalization in the curriculum of all our classes from year 1-to 4/5/6.
2. To become schools with an optimistic view of internationalization.
3. To become schools were internationalization is not an ad hoc policy, but for the long run in the future.
4. To write a policy of internationalization to each school's own situation.
5. To teach in a project way of meeting objectives of the topics.
6 To become aware of each other’s cultural background and pay respect to this.
7 To become aware of an European Dimension, in spite of the differences and especially in regard to the difficult economic situation in some of the participating countries.
8 To practice a foreign language (during the entire project, in writing, presenting, talking with each other on the website/etwinning-platform or other tools)
9 To learn more of all languages of the participating countries.
10.To be able to practice social skills in hosting someone.
11. To use ICT as a tool to have contact for all persons involved (students, teachers, staff,
parents) and being able to evaluate our process during the project and to disseminate our results.
12. To change the habits when it comes to understand other cultures, to battle prejudice.
13 To learn from each other’s strengths and expertise.
14. To develop international activities in ALL classes in ALL levels for ALL students.
14. To be an example to other schools in the region.
15. To become a real INTERNATIONAL school for now and in the future.
To reach these objectives it is needed to meet each other in transnational meetings, because to show / implement the work of the students/teachers in presentations, evaluate the process, plan the next part of the project and to undergo each other’s cultures. During these meetings two different programs will be made: one for teachers, one for students. We will schedule three national C1 C4 and C7 meetings only for teachers and coordinators, and four meetings with the involvement of students. (C2, C3. C5 and C6)
